Mealtimes & Nutrition
At the Angmering Day Nursery we recognise that good nutrition is vitally important for growing children not only to develop physically, but also intellectually. We are therefore committed to providing the children with quality home cooked meals, prepared by our cook in our own kitchen . Wherever possible organic and additive free ingredients will be used.
Mealtimes in the Nursery are used as a learning opportunity as well as a social occasion. the children will be encouraged to sit at a small dining table with a group of friends, use appropriate utensils, take turns and chat with others.
Snacktimes are wonderful opportunities to peel and chop our own fruit, pour our own drinks, spread jam and butter on biscuits, crackers and bread, explore a wide range of different foods and snacks from many cultures around the world, cheeses, breads, brioches, croissants and many other lovely things... the children are offered snack but it is not compulsory... like many things in our nursery, we offer choice to your children so they can learn about themselves and others, what they want, need, like and dont like!
The children will be given breakfast if required between 8.00am and 9.00am, snacktime is around 10.30.am. A cooked lunch is served between 12.00 and 1.00pm, afternoon milk and snack at 3pm…...and a light dinner/tea is offered to the children at 4.30. The cost of all meals is included in the fee

This is one of the many lovely strawberries we grew in our garden this year! The children love harvesting and talking about them as well as eating them!
